Corporate Finance

Why South Africa

South Africa combines a sophisticated business and financial environment with access to one of the world's most dynamic emerging regions. It offers international companies a substantial domestic market, a well-developed corporate ecosystem and a natural platform from which to expand into Southern Africa and the wider African continent.

Yet successfully entering the South African market requires more than identifying an opportunity. Local knowledge, the right relationships and an understanding of the country's commercial dynamics are often critical in turning market potential into tangible results.

What Business Development means to us

At Pelican, Business Development goes well beyond market research or lead generation.

We work as an extension of our clients, helping them identify and assess opportunities, define the appropriate market-entry strategy, identify and engage potential partners, distributors, franchisees, investors or acquisition targets, and support negotiations through to execution.

Our role can continue beyond market entry, providing an experienced local presence to develop relationships, open new commercial channels and support the business as it establishes and grows in South Africa.

Strategy, Capital and Transactions

Corporate Finance sits at the intersection of strategy, capital and execution. Whether a company is considering an acquisition, raising capital, bringing in a strategic investor, restructuring its shareholder base or evaluating a disposal, the financial structure of the transaction must support the underlying business objectives.

We help clients assess opportunities from both a strategic and financial perspective, bringing together valuation, financial modelling, transaction structuring and commercial judgement to support informed decisions and create sustainable value.

What Corporate Finance means to us

At Pelican, Corporate Finance is not limited to producing valuations or financial models. We support clients throughout the transaction process, from the initial assessment of an opportunity through to execution.

Our work may include identifying investors or acquisition targets, preparing financial analysis and transaction materials, developing valuation and funding scenarios, coordinating due diligence, supporting negotiations and assisting with transaction structuring. Where appropriate, we also work alongside legal, tax, accounting and other specialist advisers to ensure that the different elements of a transaction remain commercially aligned.

Our objective is to provide senior, independent support throughout the process, helping clients move from a strategic decision to a successfully executed transaction.
